Poway Academy, JE Boutique and Bay Vista Colleges are honored to have the support and participation of Industry leaders. In 2005, the Academies enhanced their Advisory board to included

1. Owners of 5-Star Spas and Salons
2. Owners of Spa and Salon product lines
3. Owners and Representatives of National distributors
4. Executive Directors of National Associations
5. Consultants to the professional spa and salon industry
6. Nationally acclaimed authors

The spa and salon Industry has changed dramatically over the past 5 years. Advanced techniques have been created and changed the requirements of Industry professionals. Today Spas and Salons are demanding a higher level of training that is only offered at advanced training seminars and typically they do not provide this training on-site to their employees. Last year, the spa industry created one-third of all new employment opportunities. Salons and spas are demanding highly sophisticated, technical and professional skills of their employees. To better fulfill the industry need for qualified service providers, our Academies are working with leaders in the industry to identify advanced skills and to incorporate these skills into our curriculum.

Our Advisory Board was created to both help us better understand the skills required of the professionals today and to maintain an ongoing dialogue that will help us stay abreast of the advancements in the professional industry.

To date our Advisory board has been the primary catalyst for the design and approval of 5 new programs.

Our Academies are undergoing a huge transformation and re-branding process to become the innovative leaders in the essence of spa culture within the beauty academy industry. With input from our Advisory Board members, we have incorporated a partnership with Salon Training International, where students learn the secrets of professional, financial and personal success while attending school, and begin their careers equipped with the marketing tools required to be successful.

We also have an exclusive partnership with the internationally acclaimed Make-up Designory (MUD) in Burbank. MUD has provided our Academies with their 150-hour beauty makeup course that our students can add to their cosmetology or esthetic curriculum to provide them with the most advanced makeup skills.

Very soon, we will launch our Master Esthetics and Spa Nail Technician (launched July 2007!!) to provide our students with the advanced training necessary for employment in high-end spa environments. As our Academies continue to revolutionize the training of salon/spa professionals, our goal is to expand the membership of our Advisory Board by including inspired industry leaders who share in the success of our students.
